Course description:
The subject of this course is the subtitling of audiovisual material (videos of TED Talks, movies, TV series, YouTube videos, news, documentaries, animation, etc.), and also localisation of video games, subtitling for the deaf and hard-of-hearing (SDH), and audiovisual description for blind and visually impaired consumers of visual media. The courses objective is to introduce students to the use of relevant software and tools, and the development of translation skills, such as condensation, synchronisation, etc.
